Atelier Theatre of Agnieszka Osiecka in Sopot exists since 1989. The intention of its founders Theatre has to be a meeting and artistic cooperation across Europe. These objectives, consequently realized, remain in full compatibility with statutory duties of ART 2000 Foundation, which is its organize and law base. Aims of the Foundation is to create cooperate between artists from different countries in various fields of art, as well as supporting young artists, musicians, plastics, directors and other art authors in developing their talents and improving their skills.
For eighteen sesons, since Atelier Theatre receive its permanent office in modest building at the Sopot beach, in summer time we organize event, Lato Teatralne Sopot. At that time, our scene hosted many highly acclaimed actors form TriCity, as well as artist from around the country. Our performances enjoy remarkable reputation by critics and audience for a long time. Our theatre is famous around the world for its activity promoting projects created on the border of cultures, especially Polish, Germany and Jewish. In 1994 Agnieszka Osiecka joined the team of artists and authors of the theater. Studencki Teatr Satyryków was her first theatre, and ,,Atelier" was the last one. In Atelier she spent three last years of her life - not only by working creatively ( she wrote two dramatic arts, songs for many performances, as well as many translations), but also participate in daily theatre work (like searching for props etc.). After her death in 1997 Theatre Atelier took the name of Agnieszka Osiecka, which has been granted by City Council resolution, and godfather of this great event was a friend of the poet, translator - Jacek St. Buras.
To commemorate its patron Atelier Theatre in cooperation with Okularnicy Foundation organizes the Competition for Agnieszka Osiecka's song ,,Pamiętajmy o Osieckiej" since 1999. Agnieszka Osiecka was actively connected with Sopot theatre on the beach for several years. She wrote many texts staged only on this stage. She participated theatre and actors life, trials before shows. She treat this theatre like her ,,workplace" and she often visited it.
