Andrzej Dudziński - Man-Hat-Tan Exhibition

07.08 - 29.09, 12:00 - 18:00

We invite you to an exhibition of works by Andrzej Dudziński entitled Man - Hat – Tan, which includes paintings, posters, press graphics and photography.

Born in Sopot, Andrzej Dudziński has been sharing life and work between New York and Poland for years. He is the author of several dozen individual exhibitions presented in leading galleries in Poland and abroad. The exhibition presented at the Dworek Sierakowski Manor Art Gallery is associated with the 50th anniversary of the artist's creative work. In 1969, a series of his satirical drawings, when he was still a student at the poster workshop of Henryk Tomaszewski at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, appeared in the June issue of the monthly Polska. Shortly afterwards Szpilki posted his first drawing. This year is 50 years since that date.

Two artists will meet at the exhibition at Dworek Sierakowski Manor Art Gallery: Andrzej Dudziński, the cartoonist and Andrzej Dudziński the photographer. The first describes Manhattan as a city of the homeless in a series of illustrations for the bibliophilic edition of Janusz Głowacki's Antigone in New York, the second shows the city through people and architecture.

We also invite you to the close of the exhibition on Wednesday, September 25 at 18.00 where there will be a meeting with Andrzej Dudziński and his wife, the writer Magda Dygat. The meeting will be enriched with a film screening related to the silhouette and creative output of the author. We will present a film by Małgorzata Łupina entitled "Dudi", in which A. Dudziński reveals the secrets of the workshop and the motives of artistic choices, and the whole of his image is complemented by conversations with his friends and the opinions of art critics, Professor Henryk Tomaszewski and David Ebony from New York. The second film presented will be the personal documentary "My Father Staś" directed by Andrzej Dudziński based on the script by Magda Dygat, which is a story about Stanisław Dygat, one of the most intriguing figures in the artistic life of post-war Warsaw.
